Cooking Classes

Born in the hills of Florence, with my grandparents being cooks and winemakers, I grew up surrounded by authentic flavours and traditions.  The idea of teaching people genuine Tuscan cooking comes from my roots.

Our “Inside the Tuscan Kitchen” cooking classes are a wonderful way to sample the authentic flavors of Tuscany and learn to replicate them in your own home. Classes can be conducted in your kitchen or ours. They can be private or shared, up to 10 participants. We offer two formats:

  • The short class, which lasts 3-4 hours and can include one or two pastas, a sauce, and tiramisù
  • The full-day class, which lasts 5-6 hours and includes a trip to the farmer’s market in Florence to buy ingredients. The menu is comprised of appetizers, a pasta dish, a meat dish and a dessert

The menu can be tailored to your tastes. We will put on some nice Italian music, open a bottle of wine and start to prepare our meal. To follow are the most popular dishes in each category.

  • Appetizers — simple, easy starters like bruschetta (toasted bread with seasonal toppings) or vegetable and cheese sformatini (little individual baked casseroles)
  • First course — fresh homemade pasta such as tortelli (a type of ravioli) stuffed with ricotta cheese and spinach, potato gnocchi, tagliatelle (wide, flat noodles)
  • Second course — pork fillet in bread crust, chicken alla cacciatora
  • Desserts — Tiramisù, chocolate tarts, biscotti

When the cooking is done we’ll sit down to enjoy one of the greatest pleasures in life: sharing good food and good company.
